ബാങ്ക് വായ്പാ തട്ടിപ്പ് കേസില്‍ അറ്റ്‌ലസ് ജ്വല്ലറി ഡയറക്ടര്‍മാരായ എം എം രാമചന്ദ്രന്റെയും ഭാര്യ ഇന്ദിര രാമചന്ദ്രന്റെയും 57.45 കോടി രൂപയുടെ സ്വത്തുക്കള്‍ എന്‍ഫോഴ്‌സ്‌മെന്റ് വകുപ്പു കണ്ടുകെട്ടി.
2013നും 2018നും ഇടയില്‍ നടന്ന, 242.40 കോടി രൂപയുടെ ബാങ്ക് വായ്പാ തട്ടിപ്പുകേസിലാണ് നടപടിയെന്ന് ഇഡി അറിയിച്ചു. കണ്ടുകെട്ടിയ സ്വത്തുവകകളില്‍ സ്വര്‍ണം, വെള്ളി, വജ്രം, ബാങ്ക് അക്കൗണ്ടുകള്‍, സ്ഥിരനിക്ഷേപങ്ങള്‍, മറ്റു ജംഗമവസ്തുക്കള്‍ എന്നിവയും ഉള്‍പ്പെടുന്നു.
കേരള പോലിസ് രജിസ്റ്റര്‍ ചെയ്ത കേസിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തിലാണ് ഇഡി അന്വേഷണം നടത്തി ഇപ്പോള്‍ നടപടിയെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നത്. തൃശൂര്‍ റൗണ്ട് സൗത്തിലെ, സൗത്ത് ഇന്ത്യന്‍ ബാങ്കുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടാണു തട്ടിപ്പു നടന്നത്. വ്യവസായ ആവശ്യങ്ങള്‍ക്കായി 242.40 കോടി രൂപ വായ്പ എടുത്തശേഷം തിരിച്ചടയ്ക്കാതിരിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. വായ്പാ തിരിച്ചടവ് മുടങ്ങിയതിന് മൂന്ന് വര്‍ഷത്തിലേറെ കാലം അദ്ദേഹം ദുബായ് ജയിലിലായിരുന്നു. ഒന്നര വര്‍ഷം മുമ്പാണ് അദ്ദേഹം ജയില്‍ മോചിതനായത്. തുടര്‍ന്ന്, അദ്ദേഹം തന്റെ ബിസിനസ് തിരിച്ചുപിടിക്കാനുള്ള ശ്രമത്തിലായിരുന്നു.
ED attaches assets worth Rs 57.45 crore of Atlas Jewellery Pvt Ltd for defrauding bank
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has attached assets worth Rs 57.45 crore under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) in a bank fraud case against Atlas Jewellery Private Limited and its key executives MM Ramachandran, Indira Ramachandran, officials said.
The attached assets include gold, silver, diamond jewelleries, silver articles, bank balance, fixed deposits and other immovable properties.
The ED had initiated a money laundering investigation on the basis of an FIR registered by the Kerala Police against Atlas Jewellery, MM Ramachandran and Indira Ramachandran for cheating South Indian Bank’s Kerala branch.
