മുംബൈയില് റെഡ്’ അലേര്ട്ട് : 48 ട്രെയിനുകള് റദ്ദാക്കി
മഹാരാഷ്ട്രയിലെ കൊങ്കണ് മേഖലയില് തുടരുന്ന കനത്ത മഴയില് ട്രെയിന് സര്വീസുകള് താറുമാറായി. കനത്ത മഴയെത്തുടര്ന്ന് ട്രാക്കുകളില് വെള്ളം കയറിയതിനാല് 33 ട്രെയിനുകള് വഴിതിരിച്ചുവിടുകയും 51 എണ്ണം സര്വ്വീസ് അവസാനിപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. 48 ട്രെയിനുകളാണ് റദ്ദാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നത്. മുംബൈയില് കാലാവസ്ഥാ വകുപ്പ് ‘റെഡ്’ അലേര്ട്ട് പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചിരിക്കുകയാണ്.
Mumbai rains: 33 trains diverted in Mumbai due to heavy rains, waterlogging
Several parts of Maharashtra including Mumbai have been witnessing heavy rains for four consecutive days and the weather department has warned that such rains would continue for the next 48 hours. According to the India Meteorological Department heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to take place in Mumbai, its suburbs and other parts of Maharashtra with the possibility of extremely heavy rains at isolated places.
The weather department on Wednesday had issued “red” alert for Mumbai, predicting heavy rains over the next three-four days in the western and central parts of the country. The IMD also issued an “orange” alert for Maharashtra’s East Vidarbha region, which includes districts such as Bhandara, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli and Yavatmal, indicating the likelihood of heavy to very heavy showers.
Besides Mumbai, the IMD also predicted widespread rainfall in Goa, Konkan, central Maharashtra and Vidarbha regions. The Marathwada region of Maharasthra is also expected to receive widespread showers till Thursday and the rain intensity is likely to reduce subsequently, the IMD said on Wednesday.
