Veteran communist leader and former Kerala chief minister, VS Achuthanandan, passed away at 102 on Monday. He was admitted to a private hospital at Thiruvanthapuram on June 23 after a heart attack. He was out of active politics for almost five years after he suffered a stroke. His mortal remains will be taken to AKG Centre, where the public will be able to pay homage to the deceased leader.
