മ്യാൻമറിൽ ഭൂചനമുണ്ടായതിനെ തുടർന്ന് തൊട്ടടുത്ത രാജ്യമായ തായ്‌ലൻഡിലും ശക്തമായ കുലുക്കം അനുഭവപ്പെട്ടു.ഇതുവരെ ഇന്ത്യൻ പൗരൻമാർക്ക് അനിഷ്ട സംഭവങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടായതായി റിപ്പോർട്ട് ചെയ്യപ്പെട്ടിട്ടില്ല.മ്യാൻമറിലെ ദുരിതബാധിതർക്ക് എല്ലാവിധ സഹായങ്ങൾ നൽകാനും ഇന്ത്യ തയാറാണെന്ന് പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി നരേന്ദ്രമോദി അറിയിച്ചു.ഭൂചലനത്തിന് പിന്നാലെ മ്യാൻമറിൽ അടിയന്തരാവസ്ഥ പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു. 7.7 തീവ്രത രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയ ഭൂചലനമാണ് വെള്ളിയാഴ്ച ഉച്ചയ്ക്ക് (12.50) മ്യാൻമറിലുണ്ടായത്.ഭൂചലനത്തിൽ 144 മരണം സ്ഥിരീകരിച്ചു .ആറു പ്രവിശ്യകൾ പൂർണമായി തകർന്നു.ആയിരത്തോളം ആളുകള്‍ക്ക് പരിക്ക് ഉണ്ട് .
