14 വർഷത്തിന് ശേഷം ഓസ്‌കർ പുരസ്കാരം ഇന്ത്യയിലെത്തി. ആർആർആറിലെ ‘നാട്ടു നാട്ടു’ മികച്ച ഗാനമായി. ലോസ് ആഞ്ചലസിലെ ഡോൾബി തിയറ്ററിൽ സംഗീത സംവിധായകൻ എം എം കീരവാണി പുരസ്കാരം ഏറ്റുവാങ്ങി. ദ എലിഫെന്റ് വിസ്പറേഴ്സ് മികച്ച ഷോർട്ട് ഡോക്യുമെന്‍ററിയായി.
എവരിത്തിങ് എവരിവേർ ഓൾ അറ്റ് വൺസ് പുരസ്‌കാരങ്ങള്‍ വാരിക്കൂട്ടി. കി ഹൂയ് ക്വിവാന്‍ ആണ് മികച്ച സഹനടന്‍. എവരിതിങ് എവരിവെയര്‍ ഓള്‍ അറ്റ് വണ്‍സ് എന്ന സിനിമയിലെ അഭിനയത്തിനാണ് പുരസ്കാരം. ഇതേ സിനിമയിലെ അഭിനയത്തിന് ജാമി ലീ കേര്‍ട്ടിസ് മികച്ച സഹനടിക്കുള്ള പുരസ്കാരം സ്വന്തമാക്കി.
ഓസ്‌കറിൽ ഇന്ത്യക്ക് രണ്ട് പുരസ്‌കാരങ്ങൾ. മികച്ച ഡോക്യുമെൻ്ററി ഷോർട്ട് ഫിലിം വിഭാഗത്തിൽ ദി എലിഫൻ്റ് വിസ്പറേഴ്സ് എന്ന ചിത്രത്തിന് പിന്നാലെ ആർആർആറിലെ നാട്ടു നാട്ടു എന്ന ഗാനത്തിലൂടെയാണ് ഓസ്‌കാർ വേദിയിൽ ഇന്ത്യ അഭിമാനമുയർത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നത്. ഒർജിനൽ സോംഗ് വിഭാഗത്തിലാണ് ആർആർആർ പുരസ്കാരം നേടിയിരിക്കുന്നത്. എം എം കീരവാണിയാണ് പാട്ടിൻ്റെ സംഗീത സംവിധായകൻ. ചന്ദ്രബോസ് ആണ് വരികള്‍ എഴുതിയത്. കാലഭൈരവ, രാഹുൽ സിപ്ലിഗുഞ്ജ് എന്നിവർ ചേർന്നാണ് ‘നാട്ടു നാട്ടു’ ആലപിച്ചത്.
ഊട്ടി സ്വദേശിനിയായ കാർത്തികി ഗോൺസാൽവസ് സംവിധാനം ചെയ്ത ദി എലിഫൻ്റ് വിസ്പറേഴ്സ് എന്ന ചിത്രത്തിലൂടെയാണ് ഇന്ത്യ ഓസ്കർവേദിയിൽ ആദ്യം അഭിമാനമുയർത്തിയത്. മികച്ച ഡോക്യുമെൻ്ററി ഷോർട്ട് ഫിലിം വിഭാഗത്തിലാണ് 41 മിനിട്ട് ദൈർഘ്യമുള്ള ചിത്രം പുരസ്കാരം നേടിയത്.
